Reopening
As we reopen our preschool doors, we do so with deep care, humility, and hope. The past period has been difficult for many families across our region. Moments of uncertainty and disruption can leave lasting impressions on young children, even when they cannot fully express or understand what they have experienced. As a community, our shared priority now is to gently restore a sense of safety, normality, and joy in our children’s everyday lives.
In early childhood, healing does not come through explanations alone, it comes through experience. This is why play and predictable routines are so essential. They are not simply parts of a school day. They are powerful tools that support children’s emotional recovery and resilience.
Play is a child’s natural language. Through play, children process feelings, make sense of the world, and regain a sense of control. You may notice your child repeating certain themes or scenarios in their play. This is both normal and healthy. It is their way of understanding and working through experiences. In our preschool, we provide safe, open-ended opportunities for play where children can express themselves freely, whether through building, storytelling, art, or imaginative role-play.
Equally important are consistent daily routines. Predictable rhythms such morning greetings, mealtimes, rest, and outdoor play help children feel secure. When the world has felt uncertain, knowing what comes next brings comfort. It reassures children that they are safe and cared for. Our approach, inspired by Finnish early childhood education and care, emphasizes calm, unhurried days where children are given time to settle, explore, and reconnect at their own pace.
We also recognize the importance of partnership with families. Your presence, reassurance, and consistency at home are just as meaningful. Simple things like regular bedtimes, shared meals and conversations can make a significant difference. Children do not need perfect explanations, but they do need to feel that the adults around them are calm, attentive, and available.
As we move forward together here in Bahrain, we remain deeply respectful of the strength and resilience within this community. Recovery is not a single moment but a gradual process, and every child will move through it in their own way. Our role as educators is to walk alongside them with patience, warmth, and understanding.
We are grateful for your trust as we welcome your children back. Together, through play, routine, and connection, we can help them rediscover a sense of joy, stability, and belonging.
